Selain itu, disematkan rocker arm lebih ramping dan ringan, port intake sepenuhnya dirancang dengan geometri saluran baru, serta optimalisasi pada camshaft dan area intake.
Sistem knalpot yang ringan juga terbuat dari titanium. Secara keseluruhan, mesin M 1000 RR baru lebih bertenaga dibandingkan power train RR di rentang 6.000 rpm - 15.100 rpm.
Rentang putaran mesin tersebut sangat relevan untuk dinamika berkendara di trek balap, namun tetap layak digunakan di area perkotaan tanpa kehilangan sisi sporty.
Untuk perangkat winglet, dikatakan BMW telah mengembangkan komponen itu di lintasan balap dan terowongan angin (wind tunnel) milik BMW di Jerman.
